About Smith Farms Labradors of MN

Smith Farms is located in central Minnesota, on a homestead that has housed 6 generations of our family. It has been the hub of livestock and crop farming, and is now the home of Smith Farms Labradors.

It all started in the year 2000, when we got an AKC registered chocolate Labrador Retriever named Nathan's Copper Chip.  What began as a hobby gradually blossomed into a full-time family endeavor, as we added purebred Labradors of various colors, and most recently, several AKC registered Poodles.  Currently, we have numerous children and grandchildren who help to raise, train, and care for our dogs & puppies on a daily basis.

Our dog breeding program is focused on soundness of temperament, correct conformation, and health. We screen the parent dogs' hips, elbows, and eyes, and do some genetic testing as well.  We find that vibrant health also depends on high quality nutrition, and are pleased to recommend Life's Abundance dog food. We work closely with our veterinarians to ensure optimal health in our puppies.  Our facilities have been inspected by both the AKC and the Minnesota Board of Animal Health.

We love sending our Labrador puppies to their new homes.  They have been bred to make their new families happy--and they do!  Many buyers have come back for a second, third, and even fourth puppy from Smith Farms. There is great satisfaction in knowing we've added an important dimension to the lives of our puppies' new owners.
